At our dedicated art instruction studios we offer a multitude of exciting short courses to inspire young artists!
Our workshops are available in the mornings or afternoons during most school breaks.
Options available for ages 5 and older. Childcare vouchers are accepted.

Animation the Studio Ghibli Way
Join us for this brilliant course to learn about the art of Studio Ghibli Animation! Students will learn about the art of hand drawn animation as perfected by Hayao Miyazaki and the artists of Studio Ghibli. And will apply their learning to create a number of exciting projects including a painted animation cell and a collaborative hand drawn animated sequence!

Cartooning
This workshop is an exciting journey into the wacky FUNdamentals of Cartooning. During this skills-filled week, students will learn to draw their favourite animated characters, learn the principles of character design, and explore how exaggeration is used to convey humour and wackiness! No experience is necessary.

Cartooning the Disney Way
In this cheerful workshop, students will learn to draw and colour their favourite Disney characters! Students will learn about the design of their favourite Disney Characters, and use what they've learnt to create a variety of Disney inspired artworks in a range of mediums!

Comics & Manga
One of our most popular workshop courses! Join us for an exciting 5-days of learning about the exaggerated styles of American and Japanese Comic Art! Special attention will be given to pen and ink techniques for bold line drawings and dynamic shadows!

Comics & Manga PRO
An exciting course to build upon the lessons learned in our Comics & Manga Workshop! Join us for an inspiring week digging deeper into the exaggerated styles of American and Japanese Comic Art! Special attention will be given to learning about the nuances of each genre, and to experimenting with professional materials. It is not required that a student have taken our original Comics & Manga course.
This is a "high skill" workshop, best suited for advanced students ages 11-16

Earn it! Arts Award Bronze
Earn your Bronze Arts Award in one week! This intensive 5 full-day course will guide our students through the required units required to earn the Arts Award at the Bronze Level; a Level 1 Qualification in the Arts! This course will include a fieldtrip to the Laing Art Gallery by public transport early in the week, as well as an portfolio viewing on Friday afternoon to which parents will be invited.
*Full week attendance is required to complete the award.

Exploring Watercolour
In this week-long skill-building workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of painting with watercolours. Students will learn about essential watercolour techniques and create works with a variety of subjects and styles.

Kawaii: The Art of Cuteness
In this adorable workshop students will explore the magical world of the Japanese art of "cuteness" know as Kawaii. Students will learn to reimagine everyday boring objects, animals and people in the exciting Kawaii style. Project mediums will include polymer clay, pencil, ink and paint. <3

Magical Fantasy Creatures
Join us for a week of magic as we draw and sculpt our favourite creatures from folklore and mythology. From Dragons and Elves to Unicorns, we will build skills and have fun whilst creating art inspired by our favourite fantasy creatures.

The Magic of Disney Art
In this popular workshop, students will learn to draw and colour their favourite Disney characters! Students will learn the elements of Disney character and background design, and use what they've learnt to draw and paint their own Disney-inspired masterpieces!

Mythical Creatures
Join us for a week of magic as we draw our favourite creatures from folklore and mythology. From Dragons to Unicorns to Harpies, we will explore drawing methods for skillfully rendering exciting imaginary creatures. Special attention will be paid to learning techniques for drawing fur, feather, and skin textures in order to make our drawings come to life!

For animal-loving children! During this "Pawsome!" 4-day course, students will create exciting works of art in response to stories and poems with an animal theme in a variety of mediums.

In this imaginative 5-day workshop students will craft a handmade hardbacked artists book, which they will fill with a story and illustrations using their own creative ideas!

Watercolour with the Masters
In this inspiring workshop, students will learn pro tips and tricks for painting in watercolours whilst being inspired by the artworks of master artists.
