COURSES FOR ADULTS IN WHITLEY BAY
Soft Toy Construction with Fiona
4 weeks, Thurs 5:30-7:00p
20th November - 11th December
£120 per student
Over a 4 week course, you will learn a range of traditional handmade soft toy-making techniques. Using yarn and wool felt, you will build your skills in crochet and hand sewing to create two beautiful heritage handmade bears. Suitable for beginners, to up-skillers, to those who want to create in a group environment.
Materials and tools to create two final projects are included in the course price, as well as a free pattern and tips to recreate your bear in a range of fabrics, including traditional mohair.
Please note that while bears made in these classes use stuffing and elements that meet toy safety standards, due to small pieces that could cause a choking risk to small children, we advise that your final pieces are for decorative use only or for those aged 15 or over.
This 4-week course will be led by Guest Instructor and Crafting Queen Fiona Marquina
Open to ages 16+ or 13+ with an adult
Participants will gain essential techniques and skills using a range of materials, provided at Turpentyne.
Turpentyne Classic
Thursdays 12:30-2:30 pm, term-time -OR- Fridays 6:00-8:00 pm, term-time
Ongoing. This course is booked by the half-term. Enrol at any time.
Much like our comprehensive courses for young people, this course will teach a wide variety of fine art drawing and painting skills for adults. Students will learn the principles of visual measurement, colour theory, and composition, as well as how to use a wide variety of materials to render a wide variety of subject matter.
From illustration to portraiture, to master studies and more… We will leave no artistic stone unturned!
This ongoing course is suitable for beginners, improvers and experienced artists alike and will be led by Artist Hayley Anderson aka.Bopa
In all courses at Turpentyne participants will gain essential drawing and painting techniques and skills using a range of materials, provided by Turpentyne.
