Jenn Diaz
The Director of Turpentyne, Jenn is an artist and art teacher who relocated to Newcastle upon Tyne in 2012 with her husband and two daughters. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Jenn received her Bachelors Degree in Studio Art and Multiple Subject Education from Occidental College (an American University, with such prestigious Alumni as President Barack Obama).
Jenn has spent over a decade teaching fine art painting, drawing and clay sculpture. Between 2003-2010 she managed and taught at the popular KidsArt Studio in Tarzana, California. Since moving to the UK in 2012 she has been teaching art to the children of the Northeast, first in Kingston Park, and now in Gosforth. Using time tested techniques and an ability to craft curriculum that appreciates the uniqueness of each child and their abilities, Jenn aims to teach her students to successfully draw and paint the world that they see.
In Los Angeles, Jenn studied under such renowned artists as Linda Lyke, Linda Bessemer and Edward Warren. Her artwork has been featured at Divine Design, Gallery Ophelia, Amelie Boutique, and at the Weingart Gallery. Jenn is also the primary illustrator for the Clef Notes: World of Music children's book series.
